What this quote means is that your past doesn't determine your future. You have to get out the past and live in the present in order to better yourself. If you got a very low grade in your math test last week because you did not study, look at it as a motivation to do better in the test you have this week. I could relate to this quote because many people i know live in the past, whenever they had a problem they always bring it up again instead of forgetting about it and moving on.
